Frequently Asked Questions

Wedding planner questions, answered.

Everything you need to know about the TieTheKnot Notion wedding planner template — the modules, the budget tracker, how to share it with your partner, and how to get started in under ten minutes.

What is the best Notion wedding planner template?

TieTheKnot is a Notion wedding planner built for couples who want every part of planning — budget, vendors, guests, timeline — linked together in one workspace. Instead of juggling a spreadsheet, a guest-list doc, and a Pinterest board, you duplicate the template into Notion and everything connects. The Dashboard shows your countdown, budget remaining, overdue tasks, and next vendor payment at a glance. It is designed to be the only wedding-planning tool you need.

Is there a wedding budget template I can edit?

Yes. TieTheKnot includes a Budget Tracker module built specifically as an editable wedding budget template. Set your total budget once and every category — venue, catering, flowers, photography, music, rings — has a budgeted column, a paid column, and a remaining column that Notion formulas auto-calculate for you. Categories that go over their budget are flagged in red, and paying a vendor in the Vendor Manager updates the budget automatically. No spreadsheet required.

Does TieTheKnot include a wedding planning checklist?

Yes. The Planning Timeline module is an 18-month wedding planning checklist, pre-populated with every task couples forget — order save-the-dates, book the cake tasting at 9 months out, send invitations at 12 weeks, confirm headcount with the caterer two weeks before the day. Tasks are filterable by month and assignable to the bride, the groom, or a wedding planner. Check them off as you go and the Dashboard shows progress at a glance.

Do I need a paid Notion plan to use this template?

No. TieTheKnot works with the Notion free plan. You do not need a paid Notion subscription to duplicate the template, edit it, share it with your partner, or use any of the included modules. The only requirement is a free Notion account.

Can my partner and I edit the same workspace?

Yes. After you duplicate the template into Notion, share the workspace with your partner like you would any Notion page. Both of you can edit the budget, add vendors, update the guest list, and check off timeline tasks in real time. TieTheKnot is designed for two people to plan together without overwriting each other.

How do I duplicate the template into my Notion?

Click the Open Template button below — it takes you to TieTheKnot in Notion. In the top-right corner you'll see a Duplicate button. Click it and the entire workspace, including every module, formula, and pre-filled row, copies into your Notion account in under 30 seconds. From there, set your wedding date on the Dashboard and everything else flows from there. A full step-by-step walkthrough is on the Setup Guide page.

What modules are included?

Eleven modules, covering everything end to end: Dashboard, Budget Tracker, Vendor Manager, Guest List & RSVPs, Planning Timeline, Wedding Day Schedule, Ceremony Planner, Wedding Party Tracker, Mood Board & Vision, Post-Wedding Gift Log, and Name Change Checklist.
